The best lead generation tools in 2026

Updated October 31, 2026 · By the FreshLeads.cc team

A lead generation tool finds people or companies who may buy from you, and gives you a way to reach them. The tools below do this in different ways. Some hold large databases of existing companies. Some find emails for a site you already know. Some send the emails for you. We make one of them (FreshLeads.cc), so we put it in its own section at the end and judge the others on their strengths.

B2B contact databases

1. Apollo.io

A large database of companies and contacts, with email sequences and a dialer in the same app. It has a free plan, so it is the usual first tool for a small team. Data quality varies by country and by job level; check emails before a large send.

2. ZoomInfo

The largest and most complete US B2B database, with intent data, org charts and many integrations. It sells annual contracts through a sales team, and the price is high for a small company. Best for sales teams of 10 or more that live in a CRM.

3. Cognism

Strong on European data and on checked mobile numbers. It is built with GDPR in mind. A good pick when your buyers are in the UK or the EU.

4. Lusha

Contact data in a browser extension: open a LinkedIn profile or a company site and see the email and phone. It has a free plan with a small number of credits. Easy for one person; less suited to large list builds.

5. UpLead, RocketReach and Seamless.AI

Three more databases with email and phone data, each with a search builder and credits. They compete on price and on how fresh their data is. Test each one on 50 contacts that you already know before you buy a year.

Email finders and enrichment

6. Hunter.io

Enter a domain and get the emails of the people who work there, with a confidence score and an email checker. It has a free plan. The simplest tool when you already have a list of companies.

7. Clay

A spreadsheet that pulls data from many providers in turn until it finds an answer, then lets AI write or research each row. Very flexible, with a learning curve. Best for teams that build custom lists, such as "Shopify stores that hired a marketer this month".

8. Snov.io

An email finder, checker and simple outreach tool in one, at a low price. A good fit for freelancers and small agencies.

Prospecting on platforms

9. LinkedIn Sales Navigator

Search LinkedIn by job title, company size and recent job changes, and save leads. It shows no emails: pair it with an email finder. The best source for job titles and job changes.

10. Google Maps data tools

Tools such as Outscraper turn Google Maps results into lists of local businesses with phone, website and reviews. Best for local services: restaurants, salons, contractors. Check the rules of each platform before you use the data.

11. BuiltWith

Lists of websites by the technology they use, such as every site on Shopify or every site with a given chat widget. Best when your product works with one platform.

Outreach tools with lead data

12. Instantly

Cold email at scale, with many sending inboxes and warm-up, plus a lead database. Best when you send a lot and need to protect deliverability.

13. Lemlist

Email and LinkedIn sequences with personal images and a lead database. Best for small teams that want one tool for the message and the list.

New-business leads

14. FreshLeads.cc (our tool)

The databases above hold companies that already exist, and every seller in your market has the same lists. FreshLeads.cc shows businesses that went live in the last two weeks. More than 100,000 new websites appear each day; FreshLeads checks each one, keeps the real businesses, finds the email, phone and socials on their own site, and matches them to a plain description of your customer. AI writes a first email for each lead.

It is best for people who sell to new businesses: web designers, marketing agencies, accountants, insurance, payment and software sellers. It is not a database of large companies and has no job-title search. Free plan with up to 90 leads; Pro is $36 a month for unlimited leads. See examples on our new startups and new companies pages.

How to choose

  1. Start from your buyer. Large companies with job titles: a database. Local shops: a maps tool. New companies: a new-business feed.
  2. Test on known data. Take 50 companies you know and see how many correct emails each tool returns.
  3. Count the real cost. Credits run out. Price the number of leads you need each month, not the plan.
  4. Check the email before you send. A bounce rate above 2–3% hurts your sender reputation.
  5. Follow the law where you send. CAN-SPAM in the US, GDPR and PECR in Europe, CASL in Canada.
